How to Apply
Please note! Priority will be given to students who do not already have their tuition and fees covered by state programs.
- There is one common application for all awards, though some require additional documentation.
- The online application will match you to all scholarships for which you eligible.
- All scholarships require submission of a 250-500 word personal, biographical statement.
- Your personal statement is your moment to shine, show your personality, share your goals and passions, and compel our application reviewers. We encourage you to take care in creating your statement, as it is your chance to stand out from other applicants. Your personal statement should address the following:
- Tell us about what who you are and what has shaped you
- Include interests, personal qualities, motivations, formative experiences, identities, hopes and dreams, and future goals (life, work, educational)
- If you’re a current student, tell us about your experience at GCC: your major, extracurricular involvement, personal growth, etc.
- Your personal statement is your moment to shine, show your personality, share your goals and passions, and compel our application reviewers. We encourage you to take care in creating your statement, as it is your chance to stand out from other applicants. Your personal statement should address the following:
- Some awards have specific eligibility criteria—like GPA or program of study—or require a supplemental statement written on a specific topic.
- Some awards require that a letter of recommendation be provided. It is your responsibility to have your recommendations submitted to the Foundation by the deadline! Recommendations should be sent by email to foundation@gcc.mass.edu, or mailed to GCC Foundation, ATTN: Andrea Carlin, Scholarship Recommendation, One College Drive, Greenfield MA 01301. Be sure when you ask for a recommendation to give the recommender at least a two week notice.
