Reports any safety issues to the manager. Cleans and stores kitchen items such as silverware, pots, and dishes, and operates the dishwasher as directed. Operates the cash register as directed. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Must be cooperative and able to work well with others. Ability to routinely lift or move up to 25 lbs; 50 lbs with assistance. Must understand cross-contamination prevention. Maintains an extraordinarily positive attitude when dealing with students and the public. Must comply with safety and sanitation regulations as prescribed by law. Must comply with the proper dress code as designated by the department. This role supports the office in creatively marketing a wide range of programs and activities to the GCC community through the year. Specific duties: Marketing support: create flyers, brochures, and other marketing materials. Maintain bulletin boards across campus. Contribute creative approaches to get the word out about our programs and opportunities. Social media: contribute to Student Leadership & Engagement Instagram feed by creating content and maintaining a posting calendar. Specific focus on highlighting the Student Senate. Maintain connected Linktree. Student Senate newsletter: Compile and edit monthly Student Senate newsletter, collecting ideas and content from current Senate members. Student Lounge display: research and create a monthly window display in the student lounge highlighting relevant social/cultural events and holidays Event support: assist with on-campus events (planning, set up/break down, tabling, tracking attendance, documenting) Minimum required skills needed: Strong interpersonal and communication skills Social media experience Design skills, ideally experience with Adobe Express/Canva Ability to work in a multi-tasked environment with diverse population This job is (up to) 10 hours per week. This position requires regular weekly hours throughout the semester, and ideally the student is available during the 12-1 p.m. timeslot (M-Th), as this is when most programming occurs. The student must be available to attend Student Senate meetings every other Wednesday from 3:30-5 p.m. Skill-Building Opportunities The student will build a portfolio of design projects (flyers, instagram posts/stories, etc). The student will have regular connection with the Student Senate, and learn about initiatives and processes of this student leadership group. The student will gain event promotion experience. This role supports the office in planning and delivering a wide range of programs and activities through the year, and assists in maintaining the student lounge (C216). This job is 10 hours per week. This position requires regular weekly hours throughout the semester, and ideally the student is available during the 12-1 p.m. timeslot (M-Th), as this is when most programming occurs. Training on all duties will be provided! Specific duties: Event support: assist the Student Activities Council with on-campus events (planning, set up/break down, tabling, tracking attendance, documenting). Marketing support: create flyers, brochures, and other marketing materials. Maintain bulletin boards across campus. Engage in other creative ways to get the word out about our programs and opportunities. Civic engagement support: during the fall semester, assist with voter registration and engagement Maintain student lounge: clean and stock coffee area clean and organize shared lounge spaces assist with organization and inventory of storage closet research and create a monthly window display in the student lounge highlighting relevant social/cultural events and holidays General office support: filing, copying, updating calendars, campus errands Other duties as assigned Minimum required skills needed: Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to effectively work in a multi-tasked environment with diverse population Physically able to maintain bulletin boards in numerous locations on campus Ability to organize materials, general office work, and filing Basic computer skills Preferred skill: Familiarity with Adobe express, Google Sheets, Google Docs, and/or other software programs helpful Ability to take initiative and respond to miscellaneous departmental requests Skill-Building Opportunities The student will gain experience in planning and delivering relevant, meaningful campus programming.
