Institutional Review Board OverviewIRB Notification/Application The Institutional Review Board works to ensure that the college meets the objectives of protecting people’s privacy, health and safety and ability to participate voluntarily in human subject research. Anyone conducting academic research at GCC must complete a Research Notification/Application Form. Departmental and college-wide assessment does not count as research, as long as the results are only shared within the college. If you’re unsure, answer yes. Procedures for data storage and management, including how you will keep data secure and how you will ensure participants’ confidentiality. A description of how you will provide participants with information about the research, and how you will obtain informed consent from participants. Attach a copy of your informed consent form.
